Loose Threads

• Catherine Malandrino’s twelve-piece line in collaboration with Lacoste will be in stores next month.

• Jason Wu showed his fall collection at an event in Washington, D.C., over the weekend, and one attendee bought 41 pieces — basically the whole collection.

• Hedi Slimane’s PR representatives are claiming that a recent interview in the Guardian was deliberately misleading and have reiterated that Slimane would not be opposed to heading a luxury house like Dior.

• Alexander Wang’s footwear designs will be sold in half-sizes also, starting with this fall’s collection.

• The director of a new film about famed Vogue photographer Guy Bourdin says working with him on shoots was probably like having good sex: "A lot of foreplay, mucking around, games, teasing, hard work and then, usually very late at night, a miracle."

• Swatch will open a store on Fifth Avenue, between 52nd Street and 53rd Street.

• Vanity Fair contributing editor Punch Hutton is launching a fashion line.

• Lance Lin has been named the new fashion editor of GQ. Previously, he was the public relations director for Polo Ralph Lauren’s menswear label.

• H&M is moving its Japanese headquarters back to Tokyo, after temporarily relocating to Osaka.

• Irina Lazareanu performed at SXSW last week with her band, Operation Juliet.

• Frida Giannini will be designing Gucci riding wear for Australian show jumper Edwina Alexander to wear at competitions.
