If you were having a birthday party, or getting married, or having some other big event to celebrate yourself and enjoy some limelight, and Kanye West showed up randomly, uninvited, to get his picture taken and cause a scene, would you let him in? Apparently a few fashion labels had to answer that question this Paris Fashion Week when Kanye did just that at their shows. Balmain was one target, a KCD rep for the show tells "Page Six":
"Mr. West requested to attend and we let him know we would not be able to accommodate him. He chose to come to the door anyway and we kindly let him know we could not accommodate him."
He also dared to try his luck at an even hotter ticket: Alexander McQueen.
"He did not make a request to attend, but he came uninvited," said the rep for KCD, which also ran the McQueen show. West was eventually let in through a side entrance by "venue management, not through the front door," snipped the rep.
He also reportedly wasn't invited to the Louis Vuitton show, despite having had some involvement with making a few pairs of shoes for them, though the KCD rep swears he's still "a great friend" of the label. "Several designers chose to have smaller shows this season and therefore chose to not invite celebs in order to accommodate press and buyers," the rep added. Of course they don't feel like dealing with him this season. With John Galliano's firing, Christophe Decarnin's absence, and all the other stressful things that came up this season, the last thing fashion-show organizers needed to deal with were celebrities like Kanye, who think they can blaze right in with their entourages and their egos and their needs. Well, what about the actual industry's needs? What about the actual industry's egos? They don't fit into these joints as it is.
